This is one of my go-to dishes during the week when I visit my Mama J for dinner.
It’s super quick and simple to whip up, loaded with heart healthy omega 3’s from grass-fed beef and booming with antioxidants from the dark leafy greens.
The simple flavours of garlic, lemon and basil add so much character to this dish making it absolutely delicious.
Warning! This dish is shockingly filling for a salad.
The Big Beef Salad Recipe
INGREDIENTS: (serves 2)
1 lb grass-fed ground beef
1/2 lemon (juice only)
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 tbsp. dried basil
1 big bowl of salad greens (8-10 cups)
4 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
1. Add ground beef, lemon juice and salt to a pan. Begin to cook on medium heat as you break a part the meat.
2. When beef is close to being done add garlic, basil and black pepper. Cook for another 5 min.
3. Dress the salad with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and sea salt. Mix salad and place onto a dish.
4. Add cooked ground beef onto the salad and enjoy!
I like to top this dish with broccoli sprouts if I have them on hand.
