“Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.” – Hippocrates
My approach in the kitchen
A large portion of this blog is a collection of my kitchen creations, designed less to tell you exactly what to do than to get the creative juices flowing for your own recipes.
Spirited experimentation sums up my style of cooking. I find my time in the kitchen to be a lot more fun and easy this way. But more than that, this approach allows me to learn the art of cooking instead of just following recipes. Don’t get me wrong, recipes are wonderful for teaching you about food preparation, flavour combinations, different cooking methods and more. I actually recommend starting your cooking journey by following recipes that tickle your palate and learning from them. But the real fun in cooking begins when you are able to throw your own ingredients together and create a dish you never would have imagined! This allows you to express yourself freely, to improvise, to find appropriate substitutions for ingredients and to cook a dish the way you choose to.
Preparing wholesome meals is not only a powerful tool for changing your relationship with food, but it’s a way of nurturing yourself and your loved ones.
I truly believe that quality whole food eating is one of the most important factors in achieving optimal health and well-being. Not only are you able to look and feel great by feeding your body the food it is designed to eat, but you can also prevent and reverse many diseases, disorders and ailments of the body.
For me, food is an avenue for healing my mind & body, showing my love & gratitude for those closes to me and allowing me to help others look, feel & perform their best.
It’s time to learn to love real, whole food again and nourish our bodies from the inside out.
